The armed forces offer the chance to see the world in many jobs you could choose to do in civilian life, like being a chef, a nurse or an engineer. ... Wherever you start, you'll have the chance to build a career, get more qualifications, and move up through the ranks.the British Armed Forces consist of: the Royal Navy, a blue-water navy with a fleet of 79 commissioned ships, together with the Royal Marines, a highly specialised amphibious light infantry force; the British Army, the UK's principal land warfare branch; and the Royal Air Force, a technologically sophisticated air force with a diverse operational fleet consisting of both fixed-wing and rotary aircraft. The British Armed Forces include standing forces, Regular ReserveVolunteer Reserves and Sponsored Reserves.

The Army is currently deployed in over 80 countries around the world. Deployments vary in strength from single military advisors to full operational deployments.

HOW OLD SHOULD I BE?

You must be older than 15 years and 7 months to apply for the Army.

There are two intakes to Harrogate each year, March and September, You need to be between 16 and 17 years, 5 months when you start.
