Copleston High School

Severe Weather Conditions and the Closure of the School

Bad Weather Status

Currently the School is: OPEN

A reminder of our procedures

The decision to close the school in the event of severe weather conditions will be taken by the Principal. Situations which develop during school hours can be dealt with as appropriate but when conditions deteriorate overnight the school’s ‘Task Force’ will convene and take decisions under the control of the Principal.

In the event of needing to close the school, or operate a reduced day, a message will be sent to all parents using ParentMail as early as possible that morning.

Our School website will be kept up to date and should be checked for the latest information daily during the winter months and particularly during bad weather. The same information will appear on:

This page and when necessary the home page will continue to be revised with any updates or changes as they become available.

Summary of Reduced Day Timings

If the decision is taken to have a late start to the day the following timings will apply:

10.30am: All students arrive and go straight to period 2
11.30 - 12.30: Period 3
12.30 - 13.00: Lunch
