Turing Scheme - Subsidised Overseas Opportunities
Last year, we secured funding through the Turing Scheme to run educational visits to Tanzania, Thailand and Peru. These included opportunities to work within schools and education settings or to embark on ecological projects for example working in an elephant sanctuary. Students also had the opportunity to visit key tourist sites such as Machu Picchu in Peru, Bankok in Thailand and a safari in Tanzania.
This year, we have successfully applied for funding to run a further three trips. provisionally to Tanzania, Panama and Nepal leaving on or around 10th July for 14-15 nights in partnership with Challenges Abroad.
There are 18 places per trip (plus 2 reserves) and students will be accompanied by 3 staff. Trips are heavily subsidised, so successful students will only have to contribute part of the cost of the trip and carry out some additional fundraising as a team. Support will be given with fundraising ideas.
Below are some photos from our previous trips - more will be added soon. You can also view videos and other content on the @copsturing Instagram feed.
